SANTA and Mrs Claus will take centre stage and entertainment will be supplied by dancers and musicians when Troon's Christmas festivities get officially underway next month.

All roads will lead to Troon for Wintertainment and the RNLI Christmas Fair on Sunday, November 22.

Santa will arrive at around 11.45am to kick start the celebrations.

The parade will leave Templehill at 12.30pm led by the award-winning Troon Pipe Band and joined by RNLI Santa.

Also included in the colourful cavalcade will be Bentley car with Gala Queen and Gala Princess, Troon School of Dance, Girl's Brigade, Sum Wumin Drumin, Livewire, Brownies/Guides, Karalyn Bell Dancers, TUSK Skateboarders, Tony Peters recovery vehicle with Mrs Claus and the HM Coast Guard.

The parade route starts at Templehill, and head up Portland Street, turns into Church Street and then into Academy Street before finishing in Ayr Street,

A whole host of attractions will be staged in various venues throughout the afternoon, including Santa in his Grotto in the Town Hall, Mrs Claus in her Grotto in the Parish Church Hall, where there will be an Entertainment Programme and throughout the town there will be teas and coffees, soup, burgers, music from GB Soundz and the Fairground.

Troon Old Parish Church Halls have a programme of events:

1.10 - 1.40 - Karalyn Bell School of Dance

1.45 - 2.20 - Troon School of Dance

2.25 - 3.00 - Livewire Troon

3.05 - 3.45 - Young Fiddlers with Wallace Galbraith.

Events throughout the Town will include a performance by the band Sum Wumin Drumin, who took part in the Live@Troon Festival in September.

Owl Magic, Ayrshire's premier owl display team should prove popular, especially with youngsters.

Fairground attractions will be available and Ivy Cottage will serve teas, coffees and mince pies. St Patrick's Primary School will host a show from top children's entertainer Uncle Billy and teas, coffees and hot food will be on sale.

The group Troon Urban Sports Kommunity will stage a skateboard display while soup and hot dogs will be served at Academy Court.

Seagate Church will host their ever-popular puppet show and a Christmas Fayre will be held in the Scout Hall.

The Church of the Nazarene will have a themed event on the Dickens book A Christmas Carol

Shops will be open for Christmas Shopping and the day will conclude with the Gala Queen, Gala Princess and the Provost switching on the Christmas Lights at around 4.20pm.s
