A 72-YEAR-OLD woman is in a stable condition but is still in hospital after her car overturned in Ayr’s Sandgate last week.

It is understood that gusts of wind of up to 90mph funnelled through one of the side streets, causing Marion Dante’s black Renault Clio to land on its head.
The accident happened by a parking bay outside the Electric Daisy shop.

The incident took place at 6am last Wednesday, January 27.

Emergency services attended the scene and medical staff later described her condition as serious but stable.

Local police remained at the scene until about 12.30pm the next day to carry out investigations and speak to local residents.

NHS Ayrshire and Arran confirmed the woman will remain at Ayr Hospital for the time being.

They described her condition as ‘stable’.
