TWO brothers who got into a fight with one another at Bothwell Park, Ayr have been fined more than £700.

Martin William Beveridge and Lawrence Beveridge, who both live in Saltcoats, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

They were charged with conducting themselves in a disorderly manner, engaging in a fight and committing a breach of the peace on June 27, 2015.

Police attended the scene at 3am where they found the pair exchanging punches and Martin Beveridge sustained a cut on the left hand side of his hand.

Martin Beveridge was taken to Ayr Hospital where he was found to be in possession of cocaine.  The brothers both pled guilty.  Sheriff Weir addressed them and said: “I am satisfied with the evidence I have heard in relation to charge one.  “You are both involved and nothing will make me discriminate against you.”

Martin Beveridge has been fined £530 in total and was ordered to pay £20 per week.

Lawrence Beveridge was fined £200 which he will pay in instalments of £10 a fortnight.
