Hairdressing students at Ayrshire College have excelled themselves yet again in raising a record donation for charity through their annual Hair Show event.
The Hair Show is part of the HNC Hairdressing students' promotional activity, where City and Guilds Level 3 and NQ Level 6 students exhibit avant-garde, bridal and classic bridal hair style designs.
However, this year's team has raised an astonishing £1,984, which will soon be making its way to Ayr Action for Mental Health.
Ayr Action for Mental Health is run by people that have been through depression and who are now helping their local community.
As well as raising money for such a good cause, the Hair Show - held at Kilmarnock's Grand Hall - provides an opportunity for hairdressing students at Ayrshire College to get assessed on their organisational skills and hair styling.
Lecturer Jane Devlin said "As a lecturer I'm extremely proud of everyone playing their part in a perfect event.
"The students are assessed throughout the night, so it is a credit to them that they have managed to demonstrate their talents so well in such a high-pressured situation.
"It's an exciting way for students to achieve their qualifications."
