A WOMAN has been remanded in custody after she was allegedly found in possession of drugs with the intent to supply.

It is claimed the 35-year-old was stopped at 3.30pm on Saturday, April 16 by police on Ayr's High Street where she obstructed officers during the drug search.

A warrant had been released for her arrest but she was spotted in the street, detained and searched before being taken back to Ayr Police Station for questioning.

It is believed that she tried to swallow some of the pills but failed. Police then searched her property using forced entry. They have said the way the drugs were found lead them to believe she intended to supply them.

The Ayr Advertiser Series understands that she had Diamorphine, Amphetamine and other blue unnamed tablets, worth around £150, which will be sent away to be tested.

Further enquiries will be carried out to establish what the unknown substance is. The woman was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, April 18.
