THE NEW Sainsbury's at Corton A77 opposite the bank field roundabout is anticipated to open in 2018.
Final proposals to license the store from 10am until 10pm Monday to Sunday was approved at a licensing board meeting last Thursday, April 21.
Construction on the site is expected to begin in autumn later this year which will be 900 metres away from store rival Iceland.
Cllr Peter Convery asked for clarification: "So from what you are saying by 2018 this super market will be on the ground?"
This was confirmed.
Cllr Allan Dorans concluded: "I have no obection to this application being granted."
