A NEW restaurant in the making could help regenerate Ayr Town Centre and help bring it back to life.

And Mr Mota Singh is just the man for the job who has worked in the business since the 1980s and a restaurateur for 45 years.

His plans to create a new licensed restaurant on 54 Alloway Street were approved last Thursday, April 21 at a South Ayrshire Council leadership panel.

The panel heard this premises has been a restaurant for a long period of time.

Once it is up and running the new restaurant will operate 12pm to 11pm from Monday–Thursday, 12pm -12.30am on Fridays and Saturdays and 12pm -11.30pm on Sunday.

Young people and children who want to have a meal will be able to provided they are accompanied by a responsible adult.

Cllr Alan Dorans said: "Mr Singh is an excellent restaurateur and expert in running and managing such a premises.

"Many pubs have been derelict for a long long time. It is a well established license for a restaurant. I think it is a good investment and will bring the building back into use."

Cllr Ian Douglas concluded: "It will be good to see this building back and brought into use. I have confidence that all the boxes will be ticked before it is open."
