A BEAUTY Queen from Troon has won a place in the semi-final of Miss Teen Great Britain 2015/2016.
Local girl Sophie Craig, from Troon, has beaten off competition from across Great Britain to be named as one of the semi-finalists.
Speaking about her achievements so far, the 17-year-old said: "I am so excited to have made it to the semi final, it is a great achievement."
"Making it to the grand final would be a dream come true – fingers crossed I will be able to represent my hometown and win the Miss Teen Great Britain crown!"
Teenagers from across Great Britain will compete for the crown in a spectacular grand final. The winner of Miss Teen Great Britain will walk away with some incredible prizes – including £500!
The grand final of Miss Teen Great Britain, for teens aged 16-19, will be held in 2016 at The Globe in Blackpool.
Finalists of Miss Teen GB will enjoy a weekend of fun, including a Beauty Queen Challenge Day, a pyjama diva party and much more.
Miss Teen Great Britain do not regard themselves as just a beauty contests and say they are about much more than a pretty face.
There are different sections for the varying age groups where an interview counts for 50 per cent of the total score.
The contests were created to be a positive and confidence-building experience for young girls and teenagers.
Organisers say: "We intend for the girls to make new friends and aim to make each and every contestant feel like a queen. Most importantly, we open the doors to fun and exciting opportunities for our winners.
Sophie is one of the beautiful semi-finalists for Miss Teen Great Britain 2016.
The winner of Miss Teen Great Britain will receive an incredible prize package – including £1,000 as well as having an amazing year as Miss Teen Great Britain 2016.
Smi-finalists are announced on July 1 and the final takes place in Blackpool in October this year.
