TROON locals are being encouraged to get involved in a new discussion to improve road conditions in the town centre.

Counsellor Peter Convery and Dr Phillipa Whitford have teamed up to try and regenerate interest in the project which previously failed as noone appeared to show any interest.

Cllr Convery said: "I have recovered all the data we had collected all those years ago and we are going to back to the very beginning to look at that.

"The town has changed in different ways and we are going to back to see what we had at that time and look at the different strategic management of the town.

"We are encouraging anyone with an interest in this project to get involved."

Discussions on the issue have just started but it is likely that roads to be included in the plans would include Jubilee Road, Portland and Church Street.

They hope that more people will be interested as out of 16,000 local in the town only 53 voted to renovate the roads the last time.
