THE end of June will see Troon's Summer fun weekend which kicks off on Wednesday, June 29.

Those who attend the five day event, run by Green Fees at the Fullarton golf course will be able to take part in the Texas scramble, tiger chip, golf and putting competitions.

A wide range of other activities have been promised so why not join in the fun.

Cllr Peter Convery is part of the planning for this event. He said: "We have been working on this for quite a wee while and we want to get as many people involved as possible.

"We hope people will be curious enough to attend the event as I am not going to tell you what a Texas scramble is. Some of you will know.

"The bottom line is this is certainly going to be an exciting time and is hopefully going to get people out and about and create a good community spirit. It is perfect timing with the golf Open just around the corner."

Professional golfers who still want to play a round of golf at the other two golf courses during the event which is expected to run from Wednesday, June 29 until Sunday, July 3.
