THE Scheme star Dayna McLaughlan appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court recently after she tried to dodge a taxi fayre.
McLaughan, of Ayr's Campbell Court pleaded guilty to hiring the taxi from McCalls Avenue to take her to home address and refusing to pay £13.50 to the driver on March 21 earlier this year.
The 25-year-old further admitted stealing a quantity of groceries from Tesco Stores on Whitletts Road, Ayr having been released on bail on September 4 last year from Glasgow City JP Court.
She faced Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart on Tuesday, June 14.
Speaking on her behalf defence solicitor Ian Gillies said: "Her sentence was previously deferred for a report. Unfortunately Ms McLaughlan's grand mother was found dead a few months ago in Stranraer.
"It is being treated as a suspected death. Ms McLaughlan was called to speak to officers."
Sheriff MacTaggart decided to adjourn the case to allow the courts to obtain a restriction of Liberty Assessment and Criminal Justice Social Work report.
Sentence for McLaughlin, who was part of the BBC 2010 fly-on-the-wall documentary The Scheme, filmed on Kimarnock's Onthank estate, has been deferred.
