A MAN has appeared before Ayr Sheriff Court charged with the sexual assault of staff at a nursing home in Troon while they were trying to work.

James Riley, of Plateau Drive, Troon has maintained his innocence for the charges made against him by two young woman who claim he attacked them while they were working at Westbank Nursing Home.

Riley has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting an employee there, by handling her body, kissing her on the mouth, seizing her body, simulating sexual intercourse against her.

He has also been charged with following the woman into a room, blocking her path, demanding that she kissed him, attempting to penetrate her mouth with his tongue, handling her breasts, following her into a toilet, attempting to urinate between her legs and intentionally direct a verbal communication at her by making remarks of a sexual nature towards her and in her presence on various occasions between January 1, 2012 and August 3, 2015.

Riley pleaded not guilty to another charge of a similar nature where he allegedly indecently assaulted another employee at the nursing home.

The 60-year-old has been accused of making sexual remarks towards her and in her presence, handling her body, attempting to kiss her, seizing her by the body, kissing her on the mouth, attempting to handle her breasts, seizing her by the buttocks and simulating sexual intercourse against her on various occasions between March 23, 2010 and November 30, 2010.

The same woman has also accused him sexually assaulting her again at a later date on various occasion between December 1, 2010 and August 3, 2015.

Riley denied handling her body, attempting to kiss her on the mouth, attempting to handle her breasts, seize her by the buttocks and simulate sexual intercourse against her body.

He pleaded not guilty to intentionally directing a sexual verbal communication at her, making remarks of a sexual nature towards her and in her presence. The trial continues.
