A THEATRE company is bringing a stage version of a heart-warming hit UK movie to Ayr Town Hall. 

The Railway Children, a tale of adventure and family set in the heart of the Yorkshire countryside, is being staged by the Chapterhouse Theatre Company.

This is a new production for Chapterhouse in a series of shows which tell the stories of well-known and much-loved children’s classics such as The Railway Children.

Following the mysterious disappearance of their father, the lives of three children are changed forever and they move to a new home.

They make new friends and discover the beauty of the hills and railway lines in their new surroundings in the story, originally written by Edith Nesbit.

With stunning period costume, traditional music and songs and some unforgettable characters, Chapterhouse’s version of The
Railway Children is a treat for all the family.

Chapterhouse’s 2016 summer season includes classics like Wuthering Heights, A Midsummer Night’s Dream and Sense and Sensibility. 
Also set in Yorkshire, Emily Bronte’s classic love story Wuthering Heights has been brought to the stage by award-winning writer Laura Turner and presented at some stunning open-air venues.
