POLICE are still appealing for witnesses after a 55-year-old man was killed in a road crash on the A77 between Ballantrae and Cairnryan.
At 1.55pm on Wednesday, August 10 police attended the incident which involved a car and a lorry. The driver of the car was pronounced dead at the scene.
The A77 was closed in both directions South of Ballantrae while emergency services attended the incident last Wednesday.
Sergeant Iain Pittams from the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine said: “Enquiries are continuing to establish the exact circumstances of this incident.
“Anyone with information is asked to contact officers at the Divisional Road Policing Unit based at Irvine via 101.”
As the Ayr Advertiser Series went to press no updates had been released to the public. The man's family have been made aware.
