PRESTWICK'S Nae Sae New had some very special visitors when the Antiques Road Trip got back on the road recently.

The antique shop will feature in the programme this Wednesday, September 14 on BBC one at 4.30pm and will see some familiar faces compete to make the most money at the auction.

With a starting fund of £200 each, the experts end up in the Ayrshire town after they set off on a scenic trip through the British countryside, driving an array of classic cars as they seek out hidden gems in antique shops and stop off to visit local historic and cultural sites.

From Monday, September 12 to Friday, September 16 antique hunters Charles Hanson and James Braxton get behind the wheel and start their journey which eventually leads them to Ayrshire on Wednesday.

Well known antiques experts Anita Manning, Raj Bisram, Philip Serrell, Catherine Southon, Paul Laidlaw and Claire Rawle also feature in the new series.

John Redshaw, series producer at STV Productions, said: “I hope the show’s loyal fans enjoy following our colourful antiques experts as they get back on the road to hunt down weird and wonderful antique bargains across the country. Antiques Road Trip is a real ratings winner for the BBC and continues to entertain with plenty of laughs, friendly rivalries and charismatic characters.”

Antiques Road Trip has been hugely popular with BBC audiences, attracting audiences of over 3 million viewers.
