A MAN who tried to punch his sister when she challenged him about his one night stand has been caged.

Michael McCall of Viewfield Court, Ayr admitted assaulting his sister at their home address on August, 6. He further pleaded guilty to attempting to kick two police officers on the body when they attended the house on the same day.

The 25-year-old appeared before Sheriff Mhairi MacTaggart at Ayr Sheriff Court last week who heard that there had been some difficulty between the siblings who shared the property.

Depute Fiscal Cath Whyte said: " In the early hours of the Saturday morning, Mr McCall came home with a female companion. His sister was not very pleased as this was her home.

"He continued to go on about her weight, called her an unwanted child and shouted at her. He tried to punch her. She got out of the way but this was seen by a passer by.

"The police were called, who got hold of him. He kicked out at both of the officers who had to make an emergency call to get him under control."

Speaking on his behalf, defence solicitor Tony Currie, said: "He has a form of personality disorder. He has been wanting the appropriate referral. Cognitive behavioural therapy, he believes would help him in the future.

"He has got a job which he says has a positive effect. There was a fall out with his sister, she was not happy. I have seen texts sent to him. When he woke up the next morning, there was a fractious atmosphere."

Sheriff MacTaggart addressed the dock: "You will be aware of what concerns me is a serious matter against a record. You are not growing up or moving away from this type of behaviour.

"This is threatening behaviour towards your own sister and for the court."

Sheriff MacTaggart sentences McCall to six months in prison.
