POLICE are appealing for information after two vehicles were targeted by thieves in Prestwick and expensive equipment from within was stolen.

It is claimed the first incident took place between 5pm on Tuesday, September 9 and 5pm on Friday, September 16 where fishing equipment worth a four figure sum of money was taken from an Audi on a driveway at a property on Duart Avenue.
The car belongs to a 45-year-old man.

The Ayr Advertiser Series understands that a GPS and other items worth a three figure sum of money were taken from within another vehicle sitting on a driveway at Bellevue Road between 2.30pm on Thursday, September 15 and 1.20pm on Friday, September 9 which belongs to a 68-year-old woman.

Local officers are urging anyone with any information or noticed anything suspicious to get in touch via the non emergency number on 101. Alternatively they can call Crimestoppers where anonymity can be maintained.

They would also like to raise awareness about vehicle security to encourage individuals to keep their vehicles locked, remove valuable items from within and keep them out of site.
