A MAN has died following a crash on the A77.

The incident occurred around 6:50pm on Sunday, October 16 when a white Kia Cee’d car was travelling south on the A77 towards the Grassyards Interchange when the vehicle mounted the nearside verge and collided with a tree.

Emergency services attended and the 36-year-old and was pronounced dead at the scene. He was named as Henry Millar from Kilmarnock. His relatives are aware.

The road was closed for several hours as crash scene investigators conducted enquiries at the scene. 

Road Policing officers are appealing for any information which may assist in their enquiries in establishing the circumstances of the crash.  Anyone who witnessed the collision, or observed the vehicle being driven on the A77 or who may have any other information which may assist the investigation is asked to contact Divisional Road Policing Officers at Irvine Police Office on 101.
