POLICE have issued an appeal following the report of a bogus workman who got off with a three figure sum of money in Ayr.
The incident occurred at Cambuslea Road, Ayr on September, 25. A 70-year-old female reported the incident after someone attempted to work at her property and obtained a three figure sum of money despite not completing the job.
Police Scotland confirmed inquiries are on going.
A spokesperson said: “We advise the public to only use reputable traders.
“South Ayrshire Council have recently just launched their Trusted Trader scheme to help residents find the right home improvement business for their needs.
“We urge the public to make sure you always ask for ID and make sure work is completed before any form of payment.”
