A HALLOWEEN themed 5k run is coming to Troon organised by the Troon Dynamic Fitness (TDF) group.

The event is organised by Kerry Murdoch who is hoping many will turn out in fancy dress to run the 5k on Saturday, October 29.

She told the Troon Times: "We usually do the run in the summer every year but we had some trouble getting it organised due to The Open this year.
"The run this year as it is on Halloween weekend, we thought we could do a Halloween twist."

Kerry is raising money for Alzheimers Scotland, and any funds raised will go to the charity. She had previously raised over £4,000 for CLIC Sargent, Malcolm Sargent House, Comic Relief and has also raised money for Crosshouse neonatal unit back in November last year.

Kerry spoke of her motivation to raise money for Alzheimers Scotland this time around.

She said: "If I am honest, every event we have done has been usually for CLIC Sargent.

"The reason I pitched it (Alzheimers Scotland) is that I keep hearing stories and people affected by it. Alzheimers is truly a sad thing and I hope this can help".

Kerry's fantastic charitable attitude has been amazing but she hopes people will turn up on October 29 however, she strongly suggests if people want to run they have to be Halloween themed and have a decent level of fitness.

The run will start the Marine side of the beach and  before making their way to Ballast Bank with various intervals on the way then it's a straight sprint, run, jog, jog/walk back. There is a £12 adult entry fee and £6 for kids.
