SANTA is scheduled to arrive at Ayr Central this Sunday where he will settle in his grotto in the countdown to Christmas.

Visitors will be able to say hello to the elves and other children's characters as well as enjoy the fun packed celebrations with breakfast DJ Billy Kirkwood for the #BUY MSH appeal.

Activities through out the day will include; face painters, glitter tattoo artists, balloon modellers, music and games with plenty of prizes.

The grotto, the first in the town centre for several years, is being operated by local charity the BUYMSH Appeal and will be open every day, after Santa’s arrival, until Christmas Eve.

Visits cost £6, which include a toy, can be pre booked online at either ayrcentral.com or buymsh.com.

Maxine Allan, media spokeswoman for BUYMSH Appeal, commented: "Ayr Central and our own team of volunteers have worked tirelessly to create what we believe will be Ayrshire's most magical Santa’s Grotto.

"Here at BUYMSH we are all super excited to be welcoming families at this special time of year and we really hope the community get behind us.

"The magical arrival event will take place at Ayr Central Shopping Centre, Ayr starting at 11.30am on Sunday, November 27, with Santa’s arrival scheduled at 12.30pm."
