POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a 90-year-old woman was targeted by two bogus workmen at her home in Ayr.
It is claimed the lady was approached by two men at her home on Orchard Avenue at 2.30pm on Sunday, November 20.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands that the males managed to gain entry into her property after claiming that they were doing work for her.
While she was distracted they took her hand bag which contained a three figure sum of money before making off in a red Transit van.
Police are urging anyone with any information to get in touch with Ayr Police Office on 101 are alternatively they can contact Crimestoppers where anonymity can be maintained.
Locals are advised to use the South Ayrshire Trusted Trader Scheme is they notice suspicious behaviour as well as contact police.
