A MAN has been detained in relation to three 'sneak in thefts' across Ayr.

The 40-year-old has been charged with allegedly entering in through an insecure door, stealing a handbag and its contents from Taybank Drive and Castlehill Road between October 29 and 30.

The Ayr Advertiser Series understands that the 40-year-old was reported for taking a bag and purse from a house on Monument Road on November 17 before he was arrested and detained the next day.

He was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, November 21. At the time we went to print there were no updates on the situation.
