A PERVERTED curry chef who groped a woman in an Indian takeaway has been found guilty.

Abdul Hamed, 51, who was known to staff at the curry house as ‘Uncle’, stood trial at Ayr Sheriff court last week.

Hamed, from Main Street, Ayr, was found guilty of grabbing the woman by her boobs and bum in front of her 10 year old child and as her partner was just yards away on June 19 this year at the Village Curry House.

He was found not guilty of a similar offence two weeks earlier of June 5.
The woman, who gave evidence from behind a screen, began sobbing in the witness stand before told what had happened to her.

She told the court how she would sometimes do the driving for her partner during a long shift and that the son would tag along during weekends and the school holidays.

The court heard how Hamed grabbed her boobs in the back of the takeaway.
She had been with both her partner and child when Hamed asked the partner to go to a nearby shop for a mobile phone top up for him. When he left Hamed grabbed the woman’s boobs.

The incident started when Hamed, who doesn’t speak English, gestured towards the woman to go back to his house for a drink. He groped her breast and as she walked away he grabbed her bum.

Giving evidence, the woman said: “He walked over and felt my boob with both hands.

“I hit his hand out of the way and told him to f****** stop it.

“I walked away and that’s when he felt my bum.”
The whole time the child was sitting just a meter away making up pizza boxes.

The woman added: “I was shocked. I actually felt sick.

“After he felt my bum I turned and said’ what do you think you’re doing?’ and that’s when he felt my chest again.”

The court also heard how Hamed left curry stained hand prints on the woman’s clothes.

The woman then decided to report the incident to police on July 10.

The court heard how Hamed had a habit of cuddling staff.

Hamed then gave evidence through an interpretor.

He claimed: “I did not do that. I did not do that.

“I have sworn to tell the truth. Nothing happened.

“I’m disabled. I don’t know why they would make up allegations like this.”

The court also heard how Hamed later apologised to the victim’s partner.
Hamed told the court: “I was told by my boss to say sorry, so I did that.”

Sheriff Desmond Leslie found him not guilty of a charge of groping the woman on June 5 but guilty of groping her in front of the child a fortnight later.

Hamed will be placed on the sex offenders register but sentence was deferred sentencing until next month for reports and a risk assessment.
Hamed’s bail was continued.
