A WOMAN was left trapped inside a car on Old Loans Road near Troon, yesterday after her vehicle left the road.
The incident took place at 4.20pm on Monday, November 21 when emergency services were made aware of the situation.
The woman was unable to exit the car without help and crews in attendance implemented an emergency plan to aide her removal so that she could be transferred to Crosshouse Hospital by ambulance for a precautionary check-up.
Station Manager Derek Davidson said: “The lady wasn’t physically trapped within the vehicle and as such no hydraulic cutting equipment was required to extricate her from the car.
“We have now entered a time of the year when weather conditions often increase the driving risks on our roads, particularly in rural areas.
"I would urge all drivers to slow down, drive to the conditions and their abilities and ensure you embark on any journey fully prepared for winter conditions and that may mean carrying the appropriate emergency equipment and items with you for winter driving.”
