BUSINESSES, organisations, and individual suppliers are being asked to make their views known on the process South Ayrshire Council uses to buy goods and services.
A short consultation has been launched to help inform the new Procurement Strategy which is due to be put before SAC for approval by the end of the year.
The role of Corporate Procurement is to develop and facilitate the collaborative process of identifying and obtaining goods, services and works on behalf of South Ayrshire Council, in line with its core values and aims.
Its main aims are to deliver effective, responsive and accessible services in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, to improve the quality of life in South Ayrshire.
The new Procurement Strategy will out the vision and objectives for South Ayrshire Council for the rest of the current financial year and for the 12 months ending on March, 31 2018. The draft strategy includes four main objectives:
Procurement capability development, Maximising efficiencies through procurement, Development of collaborative opportunities and Fulfilment of sustainable procurement duties.
The deadline for this is November, 30.
