TWO people had to be rescued from a burning building on Girvan's Dalrymple Street on Saturday morning.
Fire Fighters attended the incident which took place around 7.30am on Saturday, November who discovered the blaze in a single-storey, mid-terrace house.
Fire and rescue teams from Maybole, Girvan, Colmonell as well as the aerial rescue platform from Ayr attended the scene and entered the burning property and managed to rescue two people from the house, both believed to be elderly.
Both were suffering from severe smoke inhalation and they were taken into the care of paramedics before being taken to hospital for treatment.
There have been reports that the woman is suffering from burns while the man has burns on his back and feet but this has not yet been confirmed by the emergency services.
It is not yet clear what started the fire but Scottish Fire and Rescue Services will be working with Police Scotland to determine the circumstances.
