A PENSIONER has admitted killing his wife at her home.
Ian Gordon faced an allegation of murdering 63 year-old Patricia Ann Gordon in Troon, South Ayrshire in April last year.
Prosecutors allege the 66 year-old fatally attacked his wife by placing a pillow over her face and restricting her breathing.
His QC Gordon Jackson today/yesterday entered a guilty plea to the reduced charge of culpable homicide on his behalf.
But, advocate depute Iain McSporran QC told the High Court in Glasgow: “That plea is not acceptable to the Crown.”
Gordon, also of Troon, will now stand trial for murder with a date set for June this year.
Bail for Gordon was continued meantime
