UNITY Grill have smashed their fundraising target of £5000 by £1210 and hopes of a social enterprise project are looking brighter.

Angela McNay Unity Grill Founder said: "During these most difficult economic times so many people have generously donated so much.

"It's been amazing the amount of support we have received and we are so overwhelmed with not only the financial support but all other offers of help.

We feel so encouraged by the amount of people who want to be involved. The next steps is to sign the lease and get the work started so we can open before the summer."

Laura Waters Unity Grill Director added: "Now that the crowdfunding has finished this is only the start of what we have planned to continue the involvement from the public.

"We will be launching another way for people to get involved before the opening which is in keeping with our ethos of being a community restaurant."

100 per cent of the profits will be used to challenge food poverty.
