THE final event of the Hansel fundraising year was a tremendous success raising £1,800 for the Ayrshire charity.

The sell-out Christmas by Candlelight, held in Lochgreen House Hotel in Troon on Tuesday, December 13 proved to be a magical evening filled with festive cheer.

Guests were welcomed with glass of fizz and canapes before indulging in a sumptuous four course dinner created by the award winning Costley & Costley chefs.

Popular acoustic band Burness, featuring Hansel’s own Debbie Campbell on vocals, kick-started the evening’s entertainment with a selection of Christmas favourites.

They were followed by Loudon Musical Society who performed a stunning medley of heart warming carols and upbeat songs from a selection of popular musicals.

Sheila McLean, Hansel’s Fundraising Manager, said: “Christmas by Candlelight is always a wonderful evening and a great way to end a fantastic year of fundraising. Although the weather was unseasonably warm, it still felt very Christmassy at Lochgreen with its roaring fires and sparkling lights.

“We would like to thank everyone who has supported our events throughout the year from the mud run to the annual ball. The money raised makes such a difference to the lives of the people the charity supports and we are very grateful.

“We have a great programme of events lined up for 2017 and hope it will be an even more successful year for the charity.
