A PRESTWICK shopworker who stole a hundreds of pounds worth of scratch cards awaits her fate.
Stacey Dunn, 24, appeared at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.
Dunn had been working at Key Stores on Ayr Road in Prestwick when she swiped the scratch cards on November 30 last year.
The court heard how the scratch card machine had been stocked with £700 worth when Dunn started her shift and by the time she knocked off they were gone.
Another staff member spotted that there was only one card left the next day.
CCTV footage showed Dunn helping herself to the cards to try and win a cash prize.
The store manager then questioned her and she offered to stump up just £200.
Sheriff Desmond Leslie deferred sentence to try and calculate the true value of the theft.
She will be sentenced later this month.
