AYRSHIRE’S top police officer has left her post after three years in the job. 

Divisional Commander, Chief Superintendent said goodbye to colleagues in the Ayrshire Police Division last week as will take on a new role to complete the challenging UK Strategic Command Course.

Her replacement is a former Ayrshire recruit, Chief Superintendent Paul Main, who is the new Local Policing Commander for Ayrshire. 
Chief Superintendent Main is delighted to return to Ayrshire where he started his career. 

Speaking on her depature, Chief Superintendent MacDonald who has been Commander in Ayrshire for the past three years said: “It has been a privilege and a pleasure to have been Divisional Commander of Ayrshire Division over the last three years.

"I am hugely proud of the team of men and women who work tirelessly 24/7 to keep the people of Ayrshire safe and of the reductions in violent crime, particularly, that have been achieved over the last few years.”

“The partnership working which takes place in Ayrshire is some of the best I have been involved in and initiatives and approaches such as Prevention First and The Hope Project are making a real difference in our communities.”

“I am confident that my successor will seek to build on the good work that already takes place across Ayrshire as he takes over his new role.”

Ayrshire Division thanks Chief Superintendent MacDonald and wishes her all the best.
