THE planned Troon Street Market took a step further this week as the Troon Business Association confirmed plans had been submitted.

The move to have a monthly street market was revealed by the Troon Times weeks ago but now it looks the market could be nearing official.

It is thought, should all planning be approved, the first market will take place on Saturday, March 25.

Donna Read told Troon Community Council that without help from the community this wouldn't be achievable.

She said: "It has been a great project to get involved with. It wouldn't be possible without the local support.

"We have had one objection so far that we have been able to resolve.

"There will be a full pavement access for the public to use. However, we are limiting the use of craft stalls at the event due to the craft fair so there is no clashing.

"The project hasn't cost us a penny."

Donna also confirmed the Troon Christmas Market would be likely to take place on December, 23.
