ATHLETES from Monkton-based Infinity All Stars had a fantastic 2016 competition season with Head Coach Leanne McMillan.

The squad entered three competitions - The Scotcheer Steve Walls Classic, Futurecheer's Brings it on Paris and the Legacy BeKind event in Glasgow.

Taking over 90 Athletes to Dundee for the Steve Walls Classic meant that Infinity were one of the largest squads entered. With five of their routines taking three first-places and two second-places.

During the two-day event Infinity were awarded the highest scoring routine and were presented the Steve Walls Cup at the National Championships in April 2016 at the SECC.

Leanne took a Senior Two team to Disneyland Paris to compete in Brings it on Paris and this was the Squad's first European competition. The girls did their Coach's proud and came away with a second place.

The Legacy BeKind was held in June at the Emirates Arena, Glasgow and saw Infinity entering 10 routines. The girls were fantastic and scored very high. Taking five first places, two seconds, two thirds and a seventh place.

Four of the routines had zero deductions which means the judges found no fault with the routine.

The 2017 competition season have Infinity taking 96 athletes to four different events.

That involves a number of coaches - Leanne Caird, Lauren Glass, Lucy Craig, Chloe McDowall, Claire McGahon, Aimei Melvin, Sarah Howie, Gemma Wilson and Hannah O'Dowd, who are all committed to the girls learning new skills and enjoying themselves while doing it.

The athletes, whose age ranges from four to 24 train hard over four nights at Monkton Carvick Webster Hall and facilities are limited so their success means so much more when they compete against other Squads that train in purpose built gyms with sprung floors and crash mats and foam pits.

The competitions for this season are Northern Jam in Blackpool, ACDC at the Lagoon Paisley, Scotcheer Nationals at the SECC and Legacy BeKind at the Emirates Arena Glasgow. The teams competing across these events will be:

Tiny Level 1 Infinity Snowflakes - a new division for this season; Youth Level 1 Infinity Storm; Youth Level 2 Infinity Breeze - a new division; Junior Level 1 Infinity Suns; Senior Level Two Infinity Ice and Senior Level Three Infinity Heat Wave - a new division.

There is currently a waiting list for most classes but you can put your name down by emailing infinityallstars1@outlook.com.
