A MAN who pestered his ex with indecent and menacing emails has been ordered not to approach or contact her.

Kevin Gardiner, of Baineshill Drive, Maidens owned up to sending the messages, which contained offensive and threatening remarks, on January, 26 and January 27 this year.

The 27-year-old appeared before Sheriff Desmond Leslie at Ayr Sheriff Court last week. The court heard how Gardiner and his former partner had been in a relationship about six years ago. They were together for around a year.

Depute Fiscal Lorri Pidgeon explained: "Mr Gardiner stated to her that if she did not reply to these messages he was going to harm himself.

"She was frightened and blocked his number as well as his social media account. Later on that evening she received an email from the accused which said you are an absolute c**t. How dare you ignore me.

"She did not reply and was frightened by the messages she was receiving. She told him she was going to contact the police if the messages continued. He responded 'please phone the police' then maybe you will speak to me."

A copy of the emails were presented to the court. Gardiner emailed the woman saying 'you better f***ing listen to me. I am so f***ing angry right now. You better text me ASAP.

When the complainer blocked his account he then emailed her from a different address. The emails stated: "You will be there all not blocking every account I have. I suggest you unblock my number and text me right now."

Later on he sent her: "This is no longer a threat, it is a promise. All I wanted was for you to text me and talk to me instead I find myself blinded by tears crying my eyes out.

"Don't push me over the limit here man. I am pretty close the day. I don't want to have to do this."

Sentence has been deferred for Gardiner to be of good behaviour.
