FOLLOWING the huge success of Troon's first street market the next one will be set up this Saturday in front of the Concert Hall.

More than 20 stalls are expected to attend on Saturday, April 22, with added variety. Locals will be able to browse from 10am until 3pm. At least 2000 people are expected to turn up on the day itself.

The new business venture is expected to be held on the fourth Saturday of every month and is also boosting the economy of the town.

Donna Read, spokeswoman for Troon Business Association, said: "We already have a three year licence deal and hope to make the market a permanent fixture in the town.

"It will take about a year to build up and we will have a better idea then about how things are going. It was nice to see stall owners working in harmony to sell local produce.

"People who visited the market then went into the town and we hope this will happen again. People have been saying they cannot wait for the next one.

"We think this is the first market in Troon's history as noone who I have spoken to can remember there being one before."
