PROPOSALS to upgrade the 18th Century mansion, Fairlie House, have been submitted.
Developers want to renovate the basement of the Listed building, which sits on Old Rome Bridge - Bypass Road in Dundonald, and re-integrate it into the rest of the house as well as complete the re-roofing project.
It is hoped the project will see the development of new bathroom, shower rooms in a bid to modernise the building. The kitchen was originally the dining room and it is proposed to restore the fireplace to its original form with a marble hearth to match the existing drawing room fireplace.
The first floor bedroom could be converted into a bathroom and the marble in this section of the house removed to expose the original stone.
The proposals will come before a meeting of the Planning Committee.
