GIRVAN visitors centre needs more volunteers to help them at the weekends.
Patricia Watts who runs the organisation, which is located in the Town House, is asking locals if they can spare a few ours to help out.
She said: "The visitor centre needs more volunteers and helpers but particularly on a Saturday."
The facility offers tourist information to visitors and there are a number of leaflets available regarding Girvan and South Carrick with top tips and sites to look out for.
Volunteers provide information on Culzean Castle which is nearby and is a major sightseeing attraction. Girvan forms an ideal base for exploring the coast and the inland and visiting the many attractions in the area or to indulge in an interesting spell of fishing or bird watching.
They will be able to tell tourists about Girvan's beach that offers views of Ailsa Craig and can tell those who are not familiar with the area about the old fishing village of Maidens.
Details on Turnberry, how to catch up with a game of golf on the championship course, is also available as well leaflets on The Carrick Community Heritage Trail and Girvan's Community Garden.
Once a year Girvan hosts the annual Girvan Folk music Festival which is held on the first weekend of May. The Carrick Lowland Gathering is another major event which may appeal to tourists as well locals who want to experience something different.
