TWO Troon girls are embarking on a quest to raise funds for a charity.

Jennifer Paul, 18, and Victoria Thompson, 19, are organising a charity ball at the Marine Hotel in Troon on Saturday, August 19, to raise money for Diabetes UK.

This organisation is close to their hearts as Victoria was diagnosed with Type 1 diabetes when she was just five years old.

Speaking to the Troon times, Jennifer said: “At the charity ball, people will be a glass of bubbly when they arrive as well as a two course meal .

“All of the money will be going to Diabetes UK.

“We are really excited - it will be a good night.”

A bagpiper and a violinist will be there to great people when they arrive and following on, there will be a DJ.

A raffle has been organised where you can win Buzzworks vouchers, Kilmarnock and Barassie Golf Club vouchers and lots of other great prizes.

Tickets are on sale for £35 at the Little Cup of Wonder in Troon on West Portland Street and the ball will be from 6:30pm-12am.
