AN AYR man is hoping to reach the tallest peak in Scotland in support of the Scottish SPCA.

John Murasev, will climb Ben Nevis on August, 12 to raise money for the animal welfare charity. John has a sponsorship target of £550 but hopes to raise much more for the charity close to his heart.

He said: “I have volunteered for many years to raise money for the Scottish SPCA and as climbing Ben Nevis was a personal goal of mine, I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do it.”

The SSPCA are grateful to John for his support to the charity.

A spokesperson said: “By taking part in fundraising events like this, our supporters are helping us care for more unwanted, abandoned and neglected animals.

“We don’t receive any government or lottery funding which means we rely on the public to be able to continue our work rescuing and re-homing animals in desperate need of our help.

“By taking part in this trek to raise money for us, John will be helping save lives.”
