A LORRY driver has appeared in court, charged with allegedly being three times over the limit.
It is claimed that on Thursday, August 3 at 5.55pm police received a call that a heavy goods vehicle had left the A77 near Maybole and was stuck in a ditch.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands the 41-year-old man who was driving the lorry, failed the roadside breath test and was arrested for drink driving.
He has also been charged with dangerous driving, not wearing a seatbelt and driving without taking the proper rest intervals.
The road was closed on Thursday evening to help with the recovery and it is believed there were no injuries. As we went to press there were no updates on the situation.
