SOUTH Ayrshire Council are flying their flags at half mast as a mark of respect for the victims of the Barcelona terror attack.
13 people are confirmed to have died after a van was driven into pedestrians in Las Ramblas.
Around 100 people were injured, at least 15 of them seriously.
South Ayrshire Provost, Helen Moonie: "We cannot and must not let terrorists strike fear into the heart of our society and the freedom and liberties we enjoy.
"The abhorrent and mindless attacks in Spain were designed to do exactly that by targeting popular tourist areas at the height of the summer, so it’s vital we stay strong and stand together.
"Once again, mums, dads, daughters, sons, brothers and sisters will not be returning home to their families and that is simply not acceptable.
"My deepest condolences to all those who have lost a loved one and our thoughts and prayers are with everyone affected by these horrific acts."
