A MAN admitted to behaving in a threatening manner and calling his partner highly inappropriate names.

Scott Alexander, of Kildonan House in Prestwick, pleaded guilty to causing his partner fear or alarm, uttering offensive remarks towards her and throwing a hand rail from the wall on December 31 at Oakwood Avenue, Ayr.

The 48-year-old appeared before Sheriff John Montgomery at Ayr Sheriff Court last week.

Depute Fiscal, Jason Bell, explained: “The complainer and the accused have been in a relationship for six years and have two children.

“The relationship has been described as on and off.

“On the night in question the accused was heavy under the influence of alcohol.

"The complainer had put the children to bed at around 5:30pm. She wasn’t feeling well so she went up to bed. She heard the accused shout at her door.

“She got up and went into the bathroom and the accused the opened the door and took the towel rail off the wall and threw it on the floor and shouted, “is that enough f**king drama for you?””

“He then followed her into the lounge saying, “where are my f**king car keys” and the complainer tried to calm him down.

“The accused began shouting “shut it fatty”, calling the complainer a “fat chunk” and a “sp***bucket” and she became extremely upset.

“The accused continued to be abusive calling the complainer a “fat w***e”.

“The police attended and found the complainer to be very upset – it was known that the neighbours her the shouting.”

Speaking on his behalf, defence solicitor John Gallagher, said: “My client and the complainer have resumed their relationship since the incident in December.

“He has no previous convictions in terms of domestic offending."

Sheriff Montgomery deferred Alexander’s sentence to get a restriction of liberty assessment and a criminal justice social work report.
