A MAN has been charged with breaking into two properties with intent to steal in Ayr and Prestwick in the early hours of Sunday morning.
It is claimed that at 2:10am on Sunday, October 1 the 21-year-old broke into the houses, on Gordon Street and Prestwick Road, Ayr by smashing the front windows of both.
The Ayr Advertiser Series understands a member of the public phoned the police saying they had heard noises on Gordon Street. Officers attended and found the damaged property.
A second phone call was made by another person saying they could hear a window being smashed on Prestwick Road.
Officers attended and the man was charged with allegedly assaulting police officers by throwing items at them including glass bottles as well as breach of the peace.
As we went to press the man was due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court and there were no updates on the situation.
