TROON Primary opened the doors to its new £2million gym hall extension.
Officially opened on Wednesday, November 1, the project saw the demolition of the former stand-alone dining hall and the construction of a double height gym hall/dining hall, a single-storey building housing changing facilities, and kitchen and improved accessibility, including a new lift.
Cllr William Grant said: “The flexible new extension allows the school to dramatically improve the quality of the sports and physical activity on offer, provides a central meeting point, and also allows the space to be opened up for community use.”
Catherine Hornby, Troon Primary School’s headteacher, added: “The children are excited to be learning in this new environment, and will continue to be inspired and challenged in their learning of physical activity and sport.
"As a school community, we can now all come together for assemblies to share our learning and celebrate success, with room to spare.”
