FRIENDS of Fullarton have received a cheque for almost £2,000 from the Muirhead Co-op.
As part of the Co-op’s charitable funding scheme for communities in South Ayrshire, £1,715.45 was raised, where a percentage of the money spent by the members of the Co-op are allocated to local charities.
Crawford Young, of FoF, said: “The Friends of Fullarton wish to thank all those who shop at the Muirhead Co-op and nominated FoF as their preferred charity.
“The money donated by the Co-op to the Friends of Fullarton will enable the local charity to continue to revitalise the only public woodland in Troon.”
Rufus Olins, Director of Community and Campaigns at the Co-op, added: "Making a positive contribution has been at the heart of The Co-op’s purpose since 1844, and the local community fund is a good modern example of this.
“Since the scheme launched Co-op members have helped to raise an amazing £20 million for 8,000 local causes nationally, but we want to do more, so the more people shop, the more good causes can earn.”
