TROON’S town centre became the victim of torrential flooding last week.
On Tuesday, January 2, residents welcomed the new year with deep pools of downpour after Storm Eleanor past through the west coast of the country, however, it is understood that the main cause of the flooding was due to the failure of water pumps.
A spokesman for Scottish Water, said: “Flooding occurred on Jubilee Road in Troon following an operational issue with Pan Rocks Waste Water Pumping Station (WWPS).
"Appropriate action was taken to get the pumping station operational as soon as possible, and a clean operation underway.
“Scottish Water apologises for any inconvenience caused to local residents and businesses as a result and would like to thank them for their patience.”
