A THUG who headbutted a 21-year-old man on a night out in Troon’s Cheeky Charlies, breaking his tooth, has been fined.
Jason Murray, of Barassie Bank Lane, admitted assaulting the man on Monday, April 2 causing him to stumble injuring him.
The 24-year-old appeared before Sheriff Desmond Leslie at Ayr Sheriff Court last week. The court heard how the incident took place at 2am.
Depute Fiscal Hayley Roberston said: “The complainer, who is 21, was in Cheeky Charlies in Troon. Murray placed a hand on the complainer’s shoulder before headbutting him to the face. The complainer stumbled backwards and the accused was removed by a steward.
“A short time later a dispute took place outside. Police attended the complainer informed them of what had happened. The incident was captured on CCTV and the complainer identified his attacker.”
Solicitor Steven Maxwell, said: “Mr Murray is a first time offender.”
Murray has been fined £300.
