WINNERS of the Odd Object in the Shop Competition in Troon were congratulated on their success.

Some 15 school pupils were presented with their awards on Thursday, May 3 on behalf of the Troon Community Council (TCC) by Wilma Benson who recently become the Troon Citizen of the Year.

Barassie Primary School, Muirhead Primary School, St Patricks Primary School, Struthers Primary School and Troon Primary School all took part in the competition, which was organised by George Mulveny.

He said: “A big thank you to all our young folk who entered our competition. Well done to the winners, picked at random from the correct entries and to everyone who took part.

“Our grateful thanks as always, to the shops and businesses of Troon who continue to support this very popular competition.”

Helen Duff, Chairwoman of TCC, also congratulated the winners and all the entrants and expressed the Community Council’s thanks to the 84 shops and businesses which participated in the competition.

The school was officially opened March, 25, 2009 by Provost Winnie Sloan.
