A SINKHOLE, which mysteriously appeared in the middle of a residential road in Troon, is causing safety concerns.
On Friday evening, the Ayrshire Roads Alliance were made aware of the hole which emerged on Donald Crescent and had it cordoned off with cones and ‘caution’ signs.
A spokeswoman for Ayrshire Road Alliance said: “This was reported to the Ayrshire Road Alliance on Friday, June 1 at 6.30pm and we coned it off.
“This is a Scottish Water issue and it has been reported to them. They will be attending to it.”
A spokesperson for Scottish Water added: “We’re aware of the issue and will make the area safe.
“Investigations will now be carried out to establish the cause and the appropriate course of action will be taken.”
Residents are asked for their patience while the problem is addressed.
